Although it seems you have high academic achievements you did not mention if you have attained your E.I.T. certificate. Being an E.I.T. as an entry level engineer is almost required if you want to find a job where you can move up in the field. I would recommend signing up for this test if you haven't already. If you have taken the test and haven't passed there are opportunities at the city, state, and federal levels that don't require E.I.T. certification. The job market has been suffering due to the economy in the last few years. Private sector jobs are limited as the economy is not fully recovered. I would suggest broadening your job search to areas with more infrastructure development and even looking at openings in the local government or with the Army Corp of Engineers, FEMA, or EPA. If you are not already familar I would suggest taking a course in AutoCAD drafting or highlighting your profenciency in other design programs you may have used in college on your resume. As an engineer you will have to learn to use several designing programs in your career.

I'm 24 and graduated from civil engineering in October 2010. The program I graduated from is a 5-year ABET accredited program. My GPA is 3.21 and I also got a certification in project management from the same university I graduated from. Will my degree be wothless (Accreditation question)?

HOWEVER, my major is in CMIS, and I just read on the website that although their School of Computational Science and Engineering is seeking the ABET accreditation, they have not received it yet. Getting into Graduate School?

So I really want to get into a top tier graduate school (preferably Stanford) when I finish my undergraduate. I'm a dual Electrical Engineering and Computer Science major with an emphasis on Robotics. During my undergraduate, I've published two research papers at well known robotics conferences. I have one year before, and I currently have a 4.0 GPA (okay 3.98 because of a humanities course freshman year :P). I also plan on publishing at least one more research paper at the end of this summer. What monologue should a beginner start with?

I would suggest using a comedic monologue to start with. If you want to have another one for auditioning(which you should) then I would try a melodramatic or a motivational one. Shakespearean monologues should only really be used to audition for a Shakespearean play. But don't use a Romeo and Juliet monologue to audition for Romeo and Juliet. There are lots of web site that will give you free monologues to download or to print. Don't try to write your own though, it will probably stink. I know there are a lot of different types of comedic monologues ie: dark humor, making fun of people, cheesey jokes, its funny cuz its true. Good luck, hope this helped!

Learning Guitar Scales?

I am just starting out on the guitar and looking to teach myself, I have a Fender Stratocaster and amp, chord chart poster and am trying to start with understanding all the chords and styles. How to start off my Fantasy story? Help?

Should I transfer from a Mechanical Engineering program that is not yet accredited?

I am currently a sophomore attending a public university in Texas. The Mechanical Engineering program is not yet accredited, but the chair has said the university intends to apply for a visit by ABET in January of 2012. If things go well, ABET should then come out in the fall of 2012, and the program could be accredited in the summer of 2013. I am on track to graduate in the spring of 2013. From what the chair has said, if accreditation is received, it should be retroactive back to 2011 graduates. Is it unwise for me to continue to attend this university due to this uncertainty? What makes this decision more difficult is that right now I can live at home at lower cost, and if I transfer I will have to pay for an apartment. I'm a student at the University of Michigan. I'm switching into its College of Engineering, and I was planning on doing their civil engineering program, but then I came across their engineering physics major and my interest is piqued. What can you do with an engineering physics degree? Is it possible, down the road, to get into something civil-engineering-related with engineering physics, or no? Also, Michigan's engineering physics degree is one of the two programs here that is not ABET accredited. What would that mean for me if I got my degree in engineering physics? How come when people as people "what is your favorite artist?" Everyone always?

Black Sabbath is famous. They're my favorite band because I love the music. I listen to a lot of underground/lesser known bands from many different genres. I could list literally hundreds of bands and artists that most people in this section have never heard of, but I don't, because those bands, no matter how much I love them, will probably never make me feel the way this one famous band makes me feel.

Yeah for thrash metal "Don't Tread On Me" doesn't really fit since that song isn't really even thrash, it's more just basic heavy metal. I'd suggest "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" by Megadeth. The song is the pinnacle of thrash metal. Or if you wanted to use Metallica there are plenty of better songs off their earlier albums like "Blackened", "Fight Fire with Fire", and "Battery" to name a few.

I was at a sleep-over with a bunch of my friends, and we were all outside in separate tents. I was with 2 friends, and we all have a perverted kind of humor lol. we were just acting stupidly as usual, and some of our other friends come to our tent and hump and dance outside it so we can see the shadows xD we go outside and do it too, and in joke, she grabs me and air-humps lol but that's not too out of the scope of jokes cause we're all close. Being an E.I.T. as an entry level engineer is almost required if you want to find a job where you can move up in the field. I would recommend signing up for this test if you haven't already. If you have taken the test and haven't passed there are opportunities at the city, state, and federal levels that don't require E.I.T. certification. The job market has been suffering due to the economy in the last few years. Private sector jobs are limited as the economy is not fully recovered. I would suggest broadening your job search to areas with more infrastructure development and even looking at openings in the local government or with the Army Corp of Engineers, FEMA, or EPA. If you are not already familar I would suggest taking a course in AutoCAD drafting or highlighting your profenciency in other design programs you may have used in college on your resume. As an engineer you will have to learn to use several designing programs in your career.

Not nearly as important as it is for civil or mechanical engineering. I'm not sure how many computer engineers actually take the PE exam, but I would assume that it's not very many. I'm really surprised that a school like UNC Chapel Hill doesn't have that particular accreditation.

What if an engineering degree is not ABET accredited?

I have applied for master's of science in systems engineering. And I looked at the ABET website and the name of that university is only listed for electrical engineering and computer engineering. This means ABET accredited the BS in EE and its BS in CE program. However, the university does not offer BS in systems engineering and only offers MS in systems engineering. But its systems engineering master's is not accredited by ABET. That means its fake degree? I checked wikipedia article about the university and it says, "it is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA)". I'm 24 and graduated from civil engineering in October 2010. The program I graduated from is a 5-year ABET accredited program. My GPA is 3.21 and I also got a certification in project management from the same university I graduated from. A couple years back I walked the isles of my local FYE and saw some Jimi Hendrix Mcfarlane action figures. Back then I wasn't much into hendrix and didn't think much of it. Fast forward a couple years, I am now a huge Jimi Hendrix fan and recently remembered the neat potential desk ornament. But to my dismay, the prices of these now coveted toys have skyrocketed to over 100 dollars!!
